Ways to Improve Protesting
We're now in a time in the UK where protesting is a risky thing to do and our liberties surrounding protesting are getting less and less as time goes by.
Police now photograph and film protesters, I assume that crime prevention is the reason. I'm also very likely to be correct that those tapes and photographs are handed to intelligence and surveillance agencies to identify those in the crowd. Even in principle, the police have no right to take a photograph of you without your permission. You can take a photograph of them because they are public servants - they work for you.
Also the issue that protests are now not being allowed near the parliament building. Its unnecessary - it seems like an 'out of sight - out of mind' thing for politicians. Protests are about freedom, to stop being allowed to protest in the most symbolic area in the UK for our wishes to be listened to is a directly anti-democratic move by politicians.
------
I don't really know what to do about the 2nd issue above but as for the 1st issue. Here are some ways I think people can improve their protesting and be safer in the face of increasing resistance by government to listen to the people - and instead - manage them.
Clothing:
Everyone at the protest should be wearing exactly the same clothes.
--- Black Hoody (the hood must always stay up in the protest)
--- Black Trousers
--- Something to cover the face except the eyes, a black towel is recommended.
--- Black shoes
--- Sunglasses or contact lenses
I added the sunglasses and contact lenses because it's only a few decades before iris recognition technology kicks off for marketing and surveillance purposes, its best to get people in the habit of wearing them now so when the technology is openly available, protesters will be prepared.
The idea of uniformity of clothing is great. If the police are trying to get you, simple mingle and merge with a few other people dressed exactly the same as you and Bingo - they have no idea which person did what or where you are.
Black is also the best colour for when night falls, protesters can be safer.
Music:
Music should be played and it should be a riff that repeats over and over, it should be the same tune for any protest ever. A universal protest tune. It should be one that says 'A politician is going to die tonight'. It should strike fear into a politician just to hear it because they know that bad shit is going to happen. Right now, politicians couldn't give a damn about protests, they're just minor inconveniences in a day of doing what suits them.
----
Now this may all sound very harsh on the police and the liklihood is that greater crime would occur during the protest. Yes, good. Politicians should be scared that people are going to protest and be forced to listen and be truly receptive to the people in order for it not to happen.
People need to be educated that although they may not agree with the protest and dislike the destruction caused by one. One day it may well be their turn to protest, the people's right to protest should be seen as one of our highest, if not our most valuable tool and that if there is a protest, its the fault of the government.
Police need to be taught the backstory behind all protests before they go out on duty and not told to mindlessly stop disorder. The police need to be educated as to what is going on otherwise the impression I get is that they will simply become mindless drones stopping the 'loud disruptive people'. It seems crazy but any idiot can become a police officer, education should be of high importance in the force as well as crime-stopping.
----
Right now, I don't feel like a single government minister listens to the wishes of the British people. A quick glance through selected, intelligent media sources show that politicians serve business and media masters. There should be a culture where politicians are clambering over each other to hear the views of everybody they can.
Right now, you'll often hear the phrase: "So-and-so government is in power". Wrong. And its a terrible thing for a politician to say. They are NEVER in power, it is the people who have the power to shift parties based on THEIR OWN beliefs. The party in so-called 'power' have been given a great privelidge, not a licence to do whatever the fuck they want.
----
Basically - create as much risk and danger during protests. Make the government fear them. Keep yourself safe by employing a dress code.

Again, I agree to a point about the uniforms, but having ones suited to the protest would be much more effective. Masks might also be an option rather than the black scarves.
Intimidation and chaos is not the answer. If this happens, then the police and other governmental forces fight back using the same tactics. Unless you're going for true anarchy and revolution (which I don't necessarily object to) this is not the right method.
Picture the following two options - a group of thousands yelling out incoherently, nonsensically, all in random clothes with different signs, protesting about seventy different causes and most of them simply being there for the experience rather than to make any impact or statement.
Then picture just a few hundred, dressed in similar suits, blank masks covering their faces and marching in perfect silence except for the occasional synchronised shout of a slogan.
Which do you think would be more terrifying to those in charge? I'll guarantee its not the first one.
