Bonuses Tax
Barack Obama has recently introduced a 90% Bonus Tax for companies that have been bailed out in the economic crisis.
I've looked around the net at other people's opinions and there seem to be two main concerns from dumb America.
1. It isn't constitutional
Ok, the question that springs to my mind is 'So What?' but thats not good enough for most so let me expand.
Lets say I was to write a law right now. Would I expect it to still be relevant in 200 years time? No, most likely not. Just because its in the Constitution doesn't mean its right - especially when its an economic law! You really think thats gonna still be relevant 200 years in the future!?
This brings me neatly onto a little religious dig too. If I were to write laws say...2000 years ago in a ... 'Bible' lets call it. Would I still expect these rules and laws to be relevant 2000 years in the future?! NO! But dumbasses still preach that shit and innocent people are still repressed, hated and discriminated against.
2. This is a bit like Communism
America is nothing like Communism, not even close. This is a bit more like common sense. I don't understand America's preoccupation with people 'getting what they worked for' as bluntly as that - at what expense did they earn it?? The banks have screwed over EVERYONE IN THE WORLD and you still want to protect them to get bonuses they don't deserve.
Let me put it in another context that some people might understand.
- You give me $1000 dollars to buy a gun (Your bailout money)
- I shoot the fuck out of everyone and cause death and damage to many, many people(Banks irresponsibility)
- I still have $200 left over so decide to congratulate myself on doing a good job. (Bonuses)
The tax shouldn't be 90%, it should be 100%! It should be 500%! And don't tell me the Bonuses are an incentive to work. These people are walking away with tens of millions p/a. Nobody EARNS $100 million. When you personally work and you get $50,000 a year, you know that you earnt that money. When somebody works (yes, perhaps a little harder and a little more stressed out than you) and in doing so, collapses the world econonmy, they have not earnt millions and millions. It is impossible to earn that whether the economy goes up or down.
Its a pointless amount of money that a single individual simply does not need or deserve. There are far more worthy causes, there is a society out there, other people do exist, why are you so keen to live in your own bubbles? If society benefits, everyone benefits. Better schools, hospitals, lower university fees, better transport, policing...but no, its gone in someones pocket who won't ever use it all, who doesn't give a damn about you or society and who indirectly has worsened your economic situation. You're morons.

I agree that these people should be penalised, but a 90% flat tax on all bonuses isn't the way to do it.
